GoodBikes Namibia launches in Swakopmund
Goodbikes Namibia has officially launched, introducing a new community-driven approach to sustainable transport and bike donation in Swakopmund. The initiative is built around a simple idea. Visitors and residents can buy a bike, use it during their time in town, and donate it before they leave. Each donated bike is repaired and redistributed to people who need reliable transport in their daily lives.
The program works in close collaboration with local partners and bike-lovers. Needs are identified first, then bikes are collected and prepared, and finally distributed where they can make the most difference. The project also encourages a shift toward more sustainable travel choices.
By improving access to transport, Goodbikes supports everyday mobility while contributing to a cleaner, more connected town.
Community members, visitors, and local businesses are invited to take part, whether by donating bikes, supporting the initiative, or simply helping spread the word.
